One more day until “DO THEY EVER” drops!

Laura and Meg Hoffman were up til late last night finishing and tagging our new round of one-of-a-kind band shirts!  We are doing a new “hautre couture appliqué” line, a special edition of upcycled tops (as seen on male models in our last post)  Anyway, we are trying to let off some steam, because we are bursting at the seams to release our album tomorrow!  It will be a big day for the band, our producer John Wright (yes that John Wright) the Music Room and Powell River Punk Rock Choir, who are featured on several songs.  Oh the sweet anticipation!!!  XOXO Meg & LauraImage

The legend is something like this: One time NoMeansNo had a great time doing Ramones covers, so much fun that they dreamt of a Canadian version of the Ramones – something with the same swagger and tude but with hockey and glasses.  Thus, the Hanson Brothers were born.  Go ahead and correct the facts, then we’ll know someone is reading.  ANYWAY, this has come full circle, NoMeansNo are once again doing a show of Ramones tunes.  Since they were SO impressed with the professionality and sparkle of the Hoffmans on the last Vancouver Island tour, we were their first choice to open.  So check us out!!  Victoria Event Centre December 5, Nanaimo at the Cambie December 6, and the Waverley in Cumberland on December 7.  The Hoffmans are busily working on some new songs to round out our set.  And, there will be a gleaming new album at our merch table.  High times for the Abbie Hoffman Society!  High five!!!

The Hoffmans Record FULL-LENGTH

That’s right, a solid half-hour of Hoffman magic went on record at the Music Room in Powell River during the summer and fall of 2013.  The atmosphere was sparkling and the talent was noticeable, and the tracks are GOLDEN, we promise. The Hoffmans are currently working out the artwork and are counting on a December release!  To coincide with yet-to-be-confirmed super-star gigs on the Big Island opening for a certain super-group covering songs by another super-star group!  Stay tuned!!

Surfing with the Hoffmans

Superfan Tony decided to rock with the Hoffmans while learning to surf! Thanks Tony!

Our Victoria shows went great (many thanks to Budokan for support!!).  We closed down the Ratsnest with style and rocked a Powell Riverian heavy crown at Logan’s Pub.  Now, the Hoffmans are practicing new songs and gearing up for a recording session this summer.  You can watch the Hoffman spectacle at Seafair this summer!
